I offer a caring, safe place where you can openly share about what is troubling you and find unconditional acceptance and support.
I do my best to understand the nature of the problem and offer understanding, compassion, and guidance. I work with you to learn helpful ways of understanding, coping and responding to situations. This may include exploring common patterns, providing feedback, teaching problem-solving strategies, practicing new skills, or suggesting helpful resources.
I explain helpful elements of various therapeutic approaches and together we design a plan that you feel fits for you.
Problems and symptoms are connected with the physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual aspects of who we are. However, we only work on the areas you feel ready to work on.
I offer spiritual support from a Christian perspective for those interested.
I have a Master of Counselling degree and hold an Associate Professional Counselling membership with the Professional Association of Christian Counsellors and Psychotherapists (PACCP).
I have additional training in the following:
It is important to me that you find the best support possible. Prior to booking your first session, I offer a free 20-minute phone consult. This will give you a chance to meet me and get a sense of what our work together might be like. This also helps me to determine if I have the training and approach to best support you.

What to expect the first session
After your consult, and during your first booked session, we complete the forms and I gather your general information. Once we have that underway we can start planning how we will work together towards your goals.
The goal of therapy is to establish a genuine, caring and safe professional relationship where healing, growth and the changes you would like to see can take place.
My role is to help you to navigate through problems, but not solve them for you.
Therapy may only account for one hour of your week. This means in order to get the most out of our time together you will need to apply what you learn in session during the rest of your week. This might include completing an activity, reading, or practicing new skills. Practicing new skills can seem challenging at times, but with commitment and practice, I hope you will enjoy successful outcomes.
